The Fish River Canyon
Line art mountain drawing of the Fish River Canyon in Namibia by Diane Shearer | Art From Adventures

Hiking is not always about reaching the top, sometimes it is about following the journey of the river. Surrounded by vertical walls with twisted rock formations, duiker watching you through the bushes and interesting palm trees growing along the river, this hike was an absolute feast for my eyes. What I loved most about hiking The Fish River Canyon is how quiet and peaceful it is. I love the stillness and calmness of the empty trail. It reminds me how much I love hearing no noise at all! I felt absolute freedom as I had the opportunity to slow down and disconnect. Long walks during the day and starry night skies by the fire at night, I can’t think of anything better.
